Forgot the 7 (at the last count) spin offs, but the original written and directed by Clive Barker still remains (in my humble opinion) as one of the scariest, most original horror films ever.
Pinhead has become an icon and with such wonderful sayings such as, 'we have such sights to show you' and 'we'll tear your soul apart' still send shivers down my spine.

I liked the book a lot and found it very disturbing  Cheesy. I was a fan of Clive Barker's since watching Candyman. Still a classic.

Really enjoyed the first 3 Hellraiser movies, but have yet to read the book.

For those who don't know, here's a list of the movie:

Hellraiser
Hellraiser II: Hellbound
Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth
Hellraiser IV: Bloodline
Hellraiser V: Inferno
Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker*
Hellraiser VII: Hellworld*
Hellraiser VIII: Deader

*These can be rented from local video shops. It's advisted that you only rent these if you're extremly bored and have already pulled the hair from your back, cleaned the house/car, looked at enough porn, done the dishes etc etc etc

There are also 3 graphic novel collections which contain spin-off stories from different authors:
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Collected Best
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Collected Best II
Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Collected Best III

In a world of demons, humans and angels, only one thing is for certain: Apocalypse.
